MiniDisc to .wav File Transfer

We can digitally transfer your stereo MiniDisc to a digital .wav or .aiff files to be played on a modern PC, Mac, mobile phone, or used for a remastering project. Our MiniDisc player is digitally connected via a Toslink optical cable to an audio interface for transfers. These file formats can then be converted to mp3 or flac. We currently support only standard stereo 74 minute audio MiniDisc and not MD Data, MDLP, or Hi-MD. We can also write to new MiniDiscs complete with song titles for limited release runs.

It is unknown if MiniDisc can suffer from data rot as the first generation of CD-Rs did, and the compression algorithm is proprietary to Sony, so you should convert unique audio recordings that are in this format should be archived to digital files. Sony MiniDiscsMiniDiscs use rewritable magneto-optical storage to store the data, offering a capacity of 74 minutes. Sony brand audio players were on the market from September 1992 until March 2013. Unlike the DCC or the analog Compact Cassette, MiniDiscs are a random-access medium, making seek time very fast.
