8 and 4 Track Audio Cassette Tape Digitizing

We can transfer 8 track and 4 track cassette tapes to individual .wav or .aiff files so you can mix these projects in any DAW such as Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro X, Garage Band, or Reaper.

8 and 4 track cassette recorders and cassettesCassette 8 track and 4 track recorders were some of the first affordable home studio recording solutions. They used the affordable and ubiquitous Philips compact cassette tape format, popular among consumers for decades for stereo recording, to record 4 or 8 different tracks/instruments/mics. Companies like Tascam and Teac with the Portastudio line, as well as Fostex, Yamaha, Marantz and Vestax produced these units throughout the 80s and 90s. Many had built-in mixers while others were stand-alone multi I/O rack mount units. Many had a limited number of outputs or just stereo outputs. We use units with 4 or 8 outputs so we can capture each track separately, which will allow you to mix in any modern DAW. We also support all noise reduction schemes such as Dolby B, C, S and dbx type II.
