What is a Track Sheet?

Here is an example of a track sheet from a tape recorded on a 24 track tape machine. A 16 or 8 track tape only have 8 or 16 boxes, or may also use 24 boxes but they may have a line through them. It can also tell us if there are tones on the tape we can calibrate from, operating level, IPS (7.5, 15 or 30 inches per second), if noise reduction was used.
