Nick Dynice is a co-founder and recording engineer at Deep Signal Studios in Long Beach, CA, where he specializes in analog and digital audio tape transfer, vintage synthesizer recording, and the conversion of obsolete DAW, sequencer, and MIDI file formats.

He began studying MIDI sequencing and synthesis at Cypress College, then trained in audio theory, multitrack recording on 16-track 1-inch and 24-track 2-inch analog tape, digital recording with synced ADATs, Pro Tools, and sampling at Long Beach City College. He holds LBCC certificates in Recording Engineering, Record Production, Studio Assistant, and Pro Tools Assistant.

Producing and engineering since 1996, Nick co-founded Deep Signal Studios in 2016, building out its tape-machine inventory and a collection of over 150 vintage and modern instruments and effects units. His sound design work includes Michal Lewy's Bigfoot Island short films, exhibited at the Center of Contemporary Artists and the UMass Amherst Department of Art.

Deep Signal Studios' recovery work is credited on the 2021 20th-anniversary vinyl reissue of Propagandhi's Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes, for which the studio transferred the Pro Tools 5 sessions from a DDS backup tape so the band could create a new mix.
