Most modern digital audio workstations (DAWs) and audio editors are capable of importing only a select number of digital audio formats such as WAV, AIFF, MP3, M4A, OGG and FLAC. With the massive amount of digital audio formats that have existed through the years, many producers are no longer able to import a great deal of older audio files into their projects - let alone even audition them.
Deep Signal Studios can solve the problem of incompatible, unrecognized, or unknown audio formats. We can convert virtually any digital audio file to something usable in your modern DAW or audio editor - even if the file extension is missing and you have no idea what audio file format it is!
Simply let us know which destination format you would like, and we will take care of the rest. Some of the most popular requests we receive are to convert Sound Designer 2 files (SDII, SD2) which often come from Pro Tools sessions created in Mac OS 9 or earlier. Other formats we can convert are CDA, WMA, 3GP, MP1, MP2, MP4 (with audio extraction from video files), and AAC files to BWF. Broadcast Wave Files (BWF) have become the standard professional audio format due to the added metadata (which includes embedded time code information and sample rate), and are particularly useful if the audio file will be used in a non-linear editor for a video production. These files will be recognized by your DAW or audio editor automatically. Any WAV compatible player that does not recognize the BWF metadata will simply ignore the extra information and still play back the file as a normal WAV file.
The formats mentioned above are only a brief summary of the formats we can convert, so contact us and let us know what kind of files you have, and we will be happy to give you a quote for conversion. All work is backed by a no recovery, no fee guarantee.
