Yamaha MCS2
The Yamaha MCS2, released in 1983, is a MIDI control station that serves as a versatile controller for MIDI-equipped devices. The MCS2 includes a pitch bend knob, modulation wheel, and breath controller input, allowing for expressive performance control over MIDI instruments including most of Yamaha's FM synth. It also provides two inputs for Yamaha FC7 Volume/Expression Pedals, enabling precise volume and expression control. Additionally, it offers two inputs for Yamaha FC4 switch pedals, allowing users to trigger various MIDI functions such as sustain or switching between patches. Overall, the Yamaha MCS2 enhances the flexibility and control of MIDI setups by providing hands-on control over key parameters and functions. It has been used in the studio by artists like David Torn, guitarist for Madonna and David Bowie as well as Michael Brook, guitarist and keyboard player for David Sylvian and Robert Fripp.
