Korg M1R
The Korg M1R is a synthesizer module from 1988 that is based on the highly acclaimed Korg M1 keyboard synthesizer. It expands upon the M1's capabilities by offering 16-voice polyphony, allowing for more complex and layered sounds. The M1R provides access to a vast array of realistic instrument sounds, including pianos, strings, brass, and more. Its powerful synthesis engine, based on a combination of sample playback and digital oscillators, allows musicians to create rich and expressive tones, making it a staple in many music genres, particularly in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It has been used in tracks by John Carpenter, OMD, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Klaus Schulze, Jimmy Edgar and Prince.
