Contact us here regarding tape transfer services, DAW and sequencer file conversion, rentals, session musicians, music production, synthesizer recording or synth/sampler patch file services.

For analog and digital tape transfers to digital file service it is very important to provide details such as:

  • The type of tape: audio, video or data.
  • The quantity of your media. How many tapes?
  • Width of analog tape reel (1/4”, 1/2”, 1”, 2”, cassette, etc)
  • Tape track configuration: 2 track (stereo), track 4, track 8, track 16, track 24. Please look for the track sheet or handwriting on the box for indication of the track configuration. There is more than one type of machine that can be used with most tape widths. If you are not sure please see our guide on figuring out what type of tape you have.
  • Your required bit depth (16 bit, 24 bit, 32 bit float)
  • Your required sample rate (44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz)
  • Digital tape format (ADAT, DAT, DTRS, MiniDisc, etc.)
  • Your required audio file format (.aiff, .wav)
  • Photos are always helpful - especially if you provide photos of the original track sheet(s)

For DAW and sequencer file conversion, please provide the following information:

  • File type (Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools, etc).
  • Original OS and IS version used to create the file (Mac, Windows, Atari, Commodore, etc) if you know it, and software version the files were created with (example: Cubase VST32, Pro Tools 7, Logic 5, etc.)
  • If the files contain MIDI or MIDI plus audio tracks
  • Total number of files to be converted
