Magnetic Music Texture was one of the first midi sequencing computer applications. It ran on Apple ][ and was also ported to DOS/IBM compatible PCs (486 or 386). It was developed by musician Roger Powell and his company Magnetic Music between 1985 and 1992. It used either the Roland MPU-401, MPU-IPC or compatible MIDI interface, or a Yamaha C1 computer. It was a pattern based sequencer that allow you to link patterns together in the song mode. It could export songs and patterns into standard midi files. It was used by John King of the Dust Brothers to make Beastie Boys "Paul's Boutique" and many early Delicious Vinyl tracks.
If you have song files from the DOS version on your current computer, 3 1/2 inch discs or 5 1/4 inch discs we can take your files, export them as a standard midi file and deliver them to you. It is very possible that the discs are still good if you have stored them properly. We can bring the files into Pro Tools or Logic Pro and make them available for download to you.
