Oberheim DPX-1

The Oberheim DPX-1 is a very unique and sought-after sample player from 1987. Both a 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives are standard for this model with it's capability to load E-mu Emulator II, Sequential Prophet 2000, 2002, 2002+, Ensoniq Mirage DSK8/DMS8 and the Akai S900. Internally it can store up to 100 patches, is four part multi-timbral with eight note polyphony, and features full MIDI compatibility.

We have replaced our DPX-1's 3.5 inch floppy drive with a Gotek floppy drive emulator loaded with over 2000 disk images including Ensoniq Mirage, Akai S900, Emu Emulator II and native DPX-1 disk libraries of drums, strings, pianos, bases, synths and sound effects. If you do still own 3.5" floppy disks we can load them into the DPX-1. We can load Emulator II disks from the 5.25" drive. The sound is wonderfully lofi. Watch a demo here.
