Yamaha TG77

The Yamaha TG77, released in 1991, is a versatile synthesizer module offering 32 voices and 16-part multitimbrality. It combines AWM2 (Advanced Wave Memory 2) and 6 operator FM (Frequency Modulation) synthesis, providing a broad range of sound design possibilities. Unlike the DX7, which has 32 algorithms, the TG77 features 45 FM algorithms and the AWM2 waveforms can be used as FM modulation sources. The module includes 8 individual outputs for flexible signal routing and mixing. Additionally, our TG77 has been upgraded by Charles Stella at OC Synth Lab with an OLED display for improved readability. It or its keyboard version, SY77, has been used in tracks by Brian Eno, Bola, Front 242, Skinny Puppy, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Dr. Dre, 808 State and Yello.
