VHS-C was created for camcorder use, as the small cassette allowed for more compact cameras, and could be played back in a VHS VCR deck using an adapter. VHS was the video tape consumer format that became popular in the 80s with the advent of the VCR, VHS camcorders, and the video tape rental industry. Working VCRs are becoming rare as people discarded them with the advent of DVD and streaming. If you have invaluable moments with family and friends captured on VHS that was made in the last 40 years you should archive it to digital so it can be enjoyed by the next generation.
